It’s that time of year again and we are gearing up for another fun-filled, community-wide Word Worm game! The current Word Worm title holders are the 2007 winners, the Clovis News Journal (team Write-On). Will they hold on to their title this year or will your organization form the team to beat them?! Do you have friends or co-workers that love games like Balderdash and Boggle? Do you know someone that completes his/her crossword puzzles in ink? These are just the people to compete on your Word Worm 2008 team!
We are recruiting teams from community businesses, agencies, church groups, and organizations to compete against one another in our annual word/trivia game called Word Worm 2008. Teams will compete in five different categories—such as “Scrambler” in which teams must rearrange the letters in a mixed up puzzle to find the answer. (See entry form for complete list of categories). We will hold multiple rounds of competition and a Final Round to determine our Word Worm 2008 winners. Word Worm 2008 will kick off on Saturday, April 12th at 1:00 pm at the Java Loft/Master’s Center in Clovis.
Our primary goal for this event is to raise community awareness of the literacy needs in Curry County as well as the services that the Curry County Literacy Council can provide. We hope to attract students (adults in need), volunteers and community support to this wonderful program.
Any funds that we are able to raise will also be of great benefit to our students!
Thank you in advance for your generous support. We hope to see you there!
