| Need help with your composition, essay, or research paper? |
The Writing Center provides free tutoring on all aspects of composition and critical thinking for students, faculty, staff, and administration. We try to respond to every inquiry within two working days.
The tutors who staff the Writing Center are trained professionals capable of assisting with composition or essays of any nature or size. Most of our assistance comes in the form of helping you:
- Understand an assignment
- Generate ideas
- Prewrite
- Develop a thesis
- Analyze your audience
- Organize and develop ideas
- Revise earlier drafts
- Improve proofreading and editing skills
- Discover your own writing process
Tutors, however, do not proofread, edit, ghostwrite, or conduct research for our clients.
All students who are enrolled in any class, regardless of subject, may receive assistance through the Writing Center. If your paper was not created in Microsoft Word, it needs to be saved in RTF format so we can open the file in the Writing Center. If you request assistance and we are unable to open your document, we will let you know.
