About the Library
Circulation Desk
The Circulation Desk, located next to the main entrance, is responsible for the circulation of all materials, including course reserves. The Circulation Desk is staffed all hours the library is open. Materials may be checked out at any time. Comments and suggestions are always welcome. For more circulation information, please call 575.769.4080.

Checkout
A valid Clovis Community College ID card is necessary each time any materials, including reserve items used only in the library, are checked out. A lost or stolen ID card should be immediately reported to Campus Life at 575.769.4086, in the CCC Business Office.

Loan Periods
General circulation books are loaned for a three-week period, with two renewals allowed, for a total of nine weeks unless an item is placed on hold by another individual. Other item loan types include:

Periodicals
Newest issues may not be checked out. Older loose issues may be checked out for one week.

Audio tapes
Red-dot audio tapes may be checked out for one week.

Video tapes and DVDs
Red-dot videos and DVDs circulate for two days.

Course Reserve Materials
Loan periods are assigned by the instructor and are as follows: library use only, overnight, two day, or one week.

Reserves
A patron may place a hold on any item that is in circulation except course reserves. When the item is available, the requester will be notified and the item will be held at the circulation desk for one week.

Overdues
A reminder notice listing overdue items will be sent to the patron when items are not returned by the due date. Library patrons who still owe fines or materials at the end of the semester will be placed on hold in the Library, Business Office and the Admissions Office.

Fines
General circulating books and periodicals not returned by the due date are assessed a $.05 per item per day fine. Overdue reserve materials will incur an immediate fine of $2.00 per day. The overdue fine for audio tapes is $.50 and videotapes are $1.00 per day.

Replacements
All patrons are responsible for replacement fees for lost or nonreturned items. Charges will be based on an average replacement price for the item plus a $5.00 processing fee. Refunds for materials returned to the library after replacement charges have been paid are based on the charge less any overdue fine on the item.

Holds
Unpaid fines or an excessive number of overdues will result in a loss of borrowing privileges. Unresolved charges will be turned over to the Business Office for collection resulting in a block on future class registrations and transcript requests.
