Clovis Community College Foundation Receives $10,000 Donation...


  Clovis — September 7 - Representatives from the New Mexico Land Title Association and Mortgage Finance Authority presented a $10,000.00 check to the Clovis Community College Foundation to benefit the New Mexico Land Title Chili Currier Scholarship Fund. Representatives from Curry County Abstract Company, Landmark Title, and Aztec Title in Clovis and Graham Title Company in Portales were also in attendance. The scholarship honors longtime title agent, Chili Currier. This donation brings the total endowment at CCC to $25,000.

Clovis Community College's Nursing Department Receives Continuing Accreditation...


  August 24, 2009 - The Clovis Community College Nursing Program has earned reaccreditation from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. NLNAC is nationally recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the accrediting agency for postsecondary and higher degree nursing programs. The NLNAC Board of Commissioners granted continuing accreditation to the entire CCC Nursing Program on July 27, 2009, following a self-study report and extensive on-site review by NLNAC evaluators of the program curriculum, practices, and policies. NLNAC has given CCC's program an eight-year accreditation without deficiencies, the highest designation a program can receive.

A Defining Moment in the Time of War:...


  Carolina, a tragic shooting occurred leaving three African American students dead and 29 injured due to racial conflict and denial of basic human rights. This little known event occurred after a group of South Carolina State University students went out for an evening of entertainment and bowling at the only local bowling alley in Orangeburg, only to be denied entry due to the color of their skin. Anxiety rose as the owner of the establishment refused the students access into the building. Tension increased over the following two days ultimately leading to the deadly shooting

"Capturing New Mexico Churches in Watercolor"...


  December, 2008 - While traveling throughout New Mexico, Lucille Bradburn was dismayed to see several historic churches in such poor condition. These important, historical structures soon would be just a memory. Concerned with losing these images forever, she began capturing as many of the past churches as possible in vibrant watercolor. To date, she has completed over 60 paintings of these tranquil New Mexican churches.

Colorado Foundation Awards Scholarship Funds to CCC...


  The Daniels Fund of Denver, CO, has announced a two-year grant of $30,000 to Clovis Community College for student scholarships. The award was made under the organization's Daniels Opportunity Scholarship program, which benefits students in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. The grant, for scholarships to be awarded in 2009 and 2010, is the third such award given to CCC by the Daniels Fund.<

Clovis Community College Announces National Institute of Staff and Organizational Development Recipients...


  Each year, the National Institute of Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) recognizes teachers at community colleges throughout the U.S. for their dedication to excellence in education. This award is a formal recognition of teaching excellence that carries special significance because nominees are selected by their peers. Full and Part time faculty are nominated through the Faculty Evaluation Committee. Nominations are based upon teaching and division chair evaluations along with letters of nomination.

This year's NISOD Teaching Excellence Award recipient's are Michael Powers, Instructor in History; Janett Johnson, Instructor in English; Ricardo Arredondo, Adjunct Instructor in Spanish; and Jeanette Biddle, Adjunct Instructor in Communication. They will be honored at the NISOD conference in Austin, Texas this spring.

New CCC President Selected...


  Clovis, NM (March 1, 2006)---The board of Trustees at Clovis Community College announced the selection of the next institution's President at its regular meeting on Wednesday. Among the four finalists who were interviewed, Dr. John Neibling will be offered a contract beginning in early summer. Neibling's current assignment is Vice President for Instruction at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona where he has served since 2001.
