|
August 24, 2009 - The Clovis Community College Nursing Program has earned reaccreditation from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. NLNAC is nationally recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the accrediting agency for postsecondary and higher degree nursing programs.
The NLNAC Board of Commissioners granted continuing accreditation to the entire CCC Nursing Program on July 27, 2009, following a self-study report and extensive on-site review by NLNAC evaluators of the program curriculum, practices, and policies. NLNAC has given CCC’s program an eight-year accreditation without deficiencies, the highest designation a program can receive.

This little known event occurred after a group of South Carolina State University students went out for an evening of entertainment and bowling at the only local bowling alley in Orangeburg, only to be denied entry due to the color of their skin. December, 2008 - While traveling throughout New Mexico, Lucille Bradburn was dismayed to see several historic churches in such poor condition. These important, historical structures soon would be just a memory. Concerned with losing these images forever, she began capturing as many of the past churches as possible in vibrant watercolor. To date, she has completed over 60 paintings of these tranquil New Mexican churches.

The Daniels Fund of Denver, CO, has announced a two-year grant of $30,000 to Clovis Community College for student scholarships. The award was made under the organization’s Daniels Opportunity Scholarship program, which benefits students in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. The grant, for scholarships to be awarded in 2009 and 2010, is the third such award given to CCC by the Daniels Fund.<

Each year, the National Institute of Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) recognizes teachers at community colleges throughout the U.S. for their dedication to excellence in education. This award is a formal recognition of teaching excellence that carries special significance because nominees are selected by their peers. Full and Part time faculty are nominated through the Faculty Evaluation Committee. Nominations are based upon teaching and division chair evaluations along with letters of nomination.
This year’s NISOD Teaching Excellence Award recipient’s are Michael Powers, Instructor in History; Janett Johnson, Instructor in English; Ricardo Arredondo, Adjunct Instructor in Spanish; and Jeanette Biddle, Adjunct Instructor in Communication. They will be honored at the NISOD conference in Austin, Texas this spring.

Neibling’s current assignment is Vice President for Instruction at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona where he has served since 2001.
