Steps for Applying for Financial Aid
Step 1 - Complete the FAFSA
You can apply for financial aid online or you can bring information into the Financial Aid Office and we can help you complete your application and submit it electronically for you.
For the 2008-2009 school year (Fall 2008, Spring 2009 & Summer 2009) you will need to provide the following:
- Your 2007 Federal Taxes and W2’s
- Proof of any untaxed income for 2007 such as:
- TANF
- Social Security

- Child Support paid and/or received

Step 2 - Receive your SAR (Student Aid Report)
Check your SAR for accuracy. If corrections need to be made, contact the CCC Financial Aid Office.
Submit any requested documents
CCC will receive your information in approximately one week. At that time additional information may be required in order to complete your file. You will be notified of your status and what information is still needed.
For the 2008-2009 school year, be prepared to provide the following:
- Signed copies of your 2007 Federal Taxes and W2’s (and your parents, if you are a dependent student)

If you are eligible for financial aid and your file is complete, your financial aid will be awarded and will hold your classes. If you are eligible for financial aid and your file is not complete, you may come into the Financial Aid Office and talk to a staff member about setting up a Financial Aid Contract. You will be selected for verification. Required information is listed in Step 2. If you choose to set up a Financial Aid Contract by paying $10 towards your account, your classes will be held pending the completion of your Pell file. You will not automatically be dropped from your classes. It is your responsibility to drop or withdraw from the classes if you are unable to complete your Pell file. If you are registered in classes and your Pell file is not complete, you will owe all charges incurred at Clovis Community College.

Step 4 - Maintain Your Eligibility
Academic Progress is reviewed at the end of every semester. You must maintain a 2.00 GPA and a completion rate of 67% or greater. If you do not maintain this standard a letter of appeals must be written and submitted to the Appeals Committee.
Once students have attempted 92 credit hours (including all transfer hours, audit hours, and withdrawals) a letter of appeals must be written and submitted to the Appeals Committee.
