What more could you ask for?
Ok, so you've decided that perhaps a math tutor isn't exactly what you need, but you would still like the chance for a little extra practice on those tough concepts. Maybe there are just a few areas that never made sense, and you want to brush up on your skills. The Math Lab has both computer software and videos that will walk you through those difficult problems at a pace you can handle; a pace you set.
Biology students need hands-on! They need to be able to see the "temporal process of the xyphoid bone" and the "sternocleidomastoidious" for themselves! Our Biology Lab gives users the chance to actually look at the bones and muscles of the body, not just pictures in a magazine. We also have several microscopes and slides to help you learn what exactly "nervous tissue" looks like. We are presently updating the Lab, so please feel free to stop by and check out our latest updates today!
Many learners of sign language are very nervous and self-conscious about having to sign in front of others. Our Sign Language Lab offers students the opportunity to not only watch videotapes for recognition practice, but also to videotape themselves. These videos can then be used to critique techniques and provide more practice when a tutor is not available. Also, talk to our tutors, they may even be willing to let you videotape the session for future review.
Many of our students have decided to take advantage of CCC's online course offerings. If you find yourself among these students, you may now realize that you have a few questions but aren't sure you have the time to drive to the campus to get them answered! Well, beginning this semester, the tutoring office offers two ways to get in touch with a tutor! 1) The Online Writing Center provides an email address for students to email their questions and/or a rough draft of an assignment for review. Students can ask questions about topic idea generation, thesis development, citations, and more! 2) The Tutoring Center email address can be used to submit any other questions you may have about course concepts for any of the topics listed in the subject list above.
