Our goal in the Academic Advising Office is to assist our students in successfully completing their academic goals. Our students are assigned an Academic Advisor specialized in their field of studies, for guidance in selecting the best path in completing their Degree and/or Certificate. Marcus Smith

Marcus Smith, MA, LPCC
Director of Counseling and Advising

I am Director of the Academic Advising office here at CCC and my staff and I look forward to helping you achieve your educational goals. I am from Hereford, Texas and came to New Mexico to play football for Eastern New Mexico University. I received both my Bachelors and Master’s degree from ENMU and I am also a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of New Mexico. I am the academic advisor for the Behavioral Science, Computer Information System/Information Technology, Health and Physical Education degrees and also teach Psychology part-time here at CCC. I look forward to seeing you and helping in any way I can through your educational journey.  



Jennifer Bussey

Jennifer Bussey, M.Ed. 
Advising Coordinator/Academic Advisor

I am the Academic Advising Coordinator and the primary academic advisor for the Nursing program and Emergency Medical Services. I also teach the ACS 102-Freshman Seminar course. I have been with Clovis Community College since September 2001. I am originally from Petersburg, Texas. I received my master's and bachelor's degrees from Texas Tech University and my associate's degree from South Plains College. I love what I do and look forward to assisting you in reaching your educational goals.



Erika Grussendorf



Erika Grussendorf, LMSW 
Special Services Coordinator/Academic Advisor

I am the Special Services Coordinator/Academic Advisor here at Clovis Community College. I assist students who need accommodations while attending the college. I also advise students who are Academy-Based Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice, Legal Assistant, and Early Childhood Education degrees. I am originally from Silver City, New Mexico, but have lived all over the country. I received both of my Bachelor’s degrees in 2011 from Western New Mexico University. I also received my Master’s Degree in Social Work in 2015 from Western New Mexico University. I have been a Licensed Master Social Worker since June of 2016. I look forward to working with students and seeing them succeed in their educational goals. 



Amy Archuleta

Amy Archuleta 
Academic Advisor

 I am the Academic Advisor for Business Administration, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiologic Technology, Fine Arts, and Graphic Design/Media Art degrees. I graduated from Ft. Sumner High School in 2005 and attended the University of New Mexico before transferring to Eastern New Mexico University and Clovis Community College to complete my degrees. I earned my Associates of Arts in Liberal Arts here at CCC in 2008 and my Bachelor of Science in Family in Consumer Sciences with an emphasis in Business Administration from ENMU in 2011. I enjoy working with students, assisting them in finding the classes that will help them reach their educational goals.



Jennifer Bigler

Jennifer Bigler 
Academic Advisor

I am the Academic Advisor for Occupational Technology Programs as well as Transitional Programs here at Clovis Community College. I advise Automotive Technology, Cosmetology, Esthetics/Nail Technician, Industrial Technology and Welding majors as well as students working to develop their academic skills for access to college level coursework. I grew up here in Clovis and went on to attend college at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Prior to returning to Clovis, I gained 15 years of experience in higher education ranging from administration, college admissions and transfer articulation to academic advising. Whether you have questions about one of our Occupational Technology Programs and how they might best work for you, or if you’re brushing up on your reading, writing, or math in preparation for future studies, I look forward to working with you.
