Prerequisite: A grade of "C" or better in MATH 098 within the last two years or a satisfactory score on the Math Placement Test taken in the last year
This course builds and extends concepts taught in MATH 098. Competence in skills of Basic Algebra is assumed. Review of linear equations and inequalities, factoring polynomials, and graphing linear equations. Systems of equations in three variables with emphasis on applications, complex numbers, synthetic division, rational expressions and equations, solving and graphing quadratic equations, graphing circles, variation, laws of exponents including rational exponents, radicals and introduction to functions. Problem solving strategies are emphasized.
