This course is an introduction to the structure and function of American courts. Students will explore the history and development of the court system and all stages of court proceedings. The course will examine the various roles of the courts" participants, trial by jury and other dispute resolution mechanisms, trial and non-trial processes, and the operation of petit and grand juries.
