Is
Online Learning for Me?
Students who participate in an online orientation workshop
prior to the beginning of their course tend to have a more
successful online learning experience. The free campus based
workshops are listed under the Support
tab. Our goal is to provide students who are working at a
distance with the necessary information and technical help
required to succeed in an online course.
Getting Started
(Acceptable
Use Policy)
First online course at CCC?
First-time online students are advised to complete a short
orientation on campus, which introduces the online course
software and technical requirements. However, online students
who are unable to attend campus orientation sessions due to
distance factors or late registration should direct questions
to the Information Technology
department on any technical problem they are
experiencing. Help is also available by phone at: 575.769.4004
or 575.769.4121 .
What's Next?
Students new to online courses should review the Distance
Learning Supplement to review word processing, email, and
Internet skills. Directions regarding student ID's, passwords,
and course login information are available online under the
Login Procedures link.
Student Email
At the beginning of the semester, information regarding online
classes is sent to your student email account. Your student
email account at Clovis Community College is your primary
communication tool for all information concerning your online
course. Follow the Login Procedure directions for WebCT and
Student Email to log in to both your student email and online
course accounts.
Once I'm in, What Do I Do?
Once you log into your online class you will see your name,
the date and other links. If you did not attend orientation
on campus, you can take the WebCT orientation course online
to learn about your online course software. It will take time
to work through the entire orientation, but you will feel
more confident and understand how to work the tools in your
course if you complete each unit within the Student orientation
course.
Where is My Class?
Once you have logged into WebCT, the courses you
are enrolled in will show on your WebCT homepage. To enter,
click on the link with the name of the class you are currently
enrolled in.
What Student Services are available to me as an online
student?
Online students have access to the same services
as our traditional students. Advising is recommended as a
place to begin for online students seeking a degree or planning
to transfer credit hours to another university or college.
Students can order books through the campus bookstore, use
the campus library, computer lab or receive tutoring as needed.
