The Financial Aid Process

 

You can complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or you can bring your information into the Financial Aid Office and we can help you complete your application at the self-help terminals.

For the 2016-2017 school year (Fall 2016, Spring 2017 & Summer 2017) you will need to use your 2015 Federal Tax information.  If you are a dependent student as defined by the Department of Education you must also provide this information for your parents.

You must have a Federal Student Aid ID (FSAID) in order to electronically sign your FAFSA.  You can apply for your FSAID at https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm.

CCC's Federal school code for the FAFSA is 004743.

Check your SAR for accuracy.  If corrections need to be made, contact the CCC Financial Aid Office at 575.769.4060.

Submit all requested documents.

CCC will receive your information in approximately one week. At that time additional information may be required in order to complete your file.  

You will be notified via your official CCC email account of what information is still needed to complete your file.  You can also check this information on your Pathway account.

For the 2016-2017 school year be prepared to provide the following:

  • Copies of your 2015 W2's (and your parents, if you are a dependent student)
  • 2015 IRS Tax Transcripts (and your parents, if you are a dependent student) if you were not able to successfully utilize the IRS Data Retrieval Tool
  • Official college transcripts from ALL institutions of higher education previously attended
  • Official High School transcripts or High School Equivalency Credential transcripts
  • Proof of any untaxed income that may have been reported on your SAR
  • Additional information as requested 

Students wanting to charge tuition, fees, books and supplies to available financial aid must set up a Pending Financial Aid Payment Plan.

Please note: You will not automatically be dropped from your classes if you choose not to attend your classes. It is your responsibility to drop or withdraw from the classes if you are unable to complete your Pell file or become otherwise ineligible. If you are registered in classes and your financial aid is canceled for any reason, you will owe all charges incurred at Clovis Community College.

Academic Progress is reviewed at the end of every semester. You must maintain a 2.00 GPA and a completion rate of 67% or greater. If you do not maintain this standard, you may appeal for financial aid reinstatement by submitting a financial aid letter of appeals to the Financial Aid Appeals Committee no later than the Tuesday prior to classes starting for the semester you wish to attend.

Once students have attempted 150% of the amount of hours it takes to earn your degree (including all transfer hours, audit hours, and withdrawals) a letter of appeals must be written and submitted to the Financial Aid Appeals Committee.
