CCC Faculty Association Creates Scholarship to Support Students...

The Clovis Community College Faculty Association has established a scholarship to support current and future students attending CCC. The "CCC Faculty Merit Scholarship" rewards academic achievement and community service. It was created through financial gifts to the CCC Foundation from faculty and administrators. Recipients will be recognized at the spring commencement ceremony on May 14.

"Our faculty has responded to the needs of students in a time of significant economic challenge," said CCC President, John Neibling. "Their financial support is a true testament to their commitment to our students and the mission of the College."

Two $600 scholarships will be awarded each year to students who meet criteria established by the Faculty Association Scholarship Committee. Requirements include a 3.0 grade point average and full time status.

"Recognizing outstanding efforts through the awarding of this scholarship is a token of the esteem and appreciation held by the faculty for students striving for academic excellence," said Terry Davis, president of the CCC Faculty Association and Computer Information Systems instructor for the College. "We believe it is important to give back to the College and to our students," he added.

Applications for the scholarship may be obtained in the Financial Aid Office or online at www.clovis.edu. Deadline to apply is March 31. For additional information or to make a gift to this scholarship, please contact Stephanie Spencer at 575-769-4956 or stephanie.spencer@clovis.edu.
