Santa Fe Opera Tour Coming to Clovis...

Two talented singers and a pianist will perform during The Santa Fe Opera's annual Spring Opera Tour on April 20 at 7 pm in Town Hall. Presented by Clovis Community College and The Citizens Bank of Clovis, this special concert is part of the outreach efforts by the Santa Fe Opera. There is no charge to attend the performance.

The first half of the program is a short, original piece, Words and Music, a sweet love story that incorporates familiar musical works. The story centers on Melody, a composer with writer's block, and Webster, who is certain that with his gift of language, he can not only help her, but perhaps find the perfect girl for himself. The second half of the program is comprised of popular arias and songs. Performers in this year's tour include soprano Jamie-Rose Guarrine, baritone Sean Anderson, and pianist and music director, Kirt Pavitt.

Jamie-Rose Guarrine recently appeared as Mabel in The Pirate of Penzance with the Kentucky Opera, Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro with the Utah Opera, and Nella in Gianni Schicchi with the Opera Company of Philadelphia. Sean Anderson's performances during the current season include Papageno in The Magic Flute with Sarasota Opera, Marcello in La Boheme with the Indianapolis Opera, and Silvio in I Pagliacci with Opera Columbus.

The Spring Opera Tour is supported by First Community Bank, the Guilds of The Santa Fe Opera, Inc., New Mexico Arts—a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs, the City of Santa Fe Arts Commission 1% Lodgers' Tax, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
