The NMLTA is a non-profit organization of title insurance agents and insurers that has made an extraordinary commitment to higher education in the state. The Association has endowments in 12 colleges and universities totaling over $155,000.
The New Mexico State Legislature created the Land Title Trust Fund in 1978 and allows certain title company escrow funds to be placed in interest-earning accounts administered by MFA. Most of the funds are used to finance loans or grants to provide quality, safe housing for low-income New Mexicans. Ten percent is used to provide scholarships for New Mexico high school graduates and GED recipients at public colleges and Universities throughout the state.
In addition to the CCC gift, the NMLTA will make donations this fall to foundations from New Mexico Highlands University, Northern New Mexico Community College, San Juan College, and New Mexico Junior College Foundation.
