Clovis Community College Invites Public to Join in on Fun...

Clovis - Clovis Community College is wrapping up National Community College Month with many activities for the public to attend. On April 21st, the 2nd Annual Women's Conference will be held at CCC with registration starting at 8:00am in Town Hall. This year's conference theme, Imagine Being More...Empowered, will feature motivational keynote speaker, Dr. Ann Grayson, Presbyterian Medical Group; a selection of informational breakout sessions and a panel discussion during lunch, featuring three successful local businesswomen reviewing their goals and achievements. CCC will be celebrating the sixth annual Prairiedogapalooza, which is a free event of music and family entertainment. Beginning with a 5K run at 8:00am on April 22nd, the public may also enjoy shopping at a flee market, which also begins at 8:00. Bands begin at 11:00am and continue until early evening. Dr. David L. Caffey, author of Frank Springer and New Mexico: from the Colfax County War to the Emergence of Modern Santa Fe, will be available to discuss his recent work at a book signing on April 27th, 4:30pm — 6:00pm, Dr. W. D. Dabbs Library, CCC east campus. Dr. Caffey will be reading excerpts from his newest book, which will be available for purchase at the signing. He has authored a number of books, including the award-winning Land of Enchantment, Land of Conflict: New Mexico in English-Language Fiction. This and some of his earlier books will also be available for purchase. With an Ed.D. from Texas Tech University, Dr. Caffey is the Vice-president for Institutional Effectiveness at Clovis Community College. For more information, contact Lisa Spencer, 769-4115.
