Clovis - Four young singers from the Santa Fe Opera's Apprentice Program will perform in Clovis as part of the Opera's annual Apprentice Tour. The performance is presented by the Cultural Arts Series sponsored by Clovis Community College and Plains Regional Medical Center.

The singers will perform Saturday, April 15 at 7 pm in Town Hall on the campus of CCC. The concert is free and open to the public. A reception to meet the performers will follow in the Eula Mae Edwards Museum.

The evening will consist of joyous music, heart wrenching melodies and show stopping arias. The four singers, soprano Martha Guth, tenor Aaron Blake, baritone David Giuliano and bass-baritone Sam Handley will join accompanist, Kirt Pavitt in arias and duets from The Marriage of Figaro, Don Pasquale and L'amico Fritz. Theatre selections from Kiss Me Kate, Carnival and Guys and Dolls will also be featured. The finale will be America the Beautiful, performed by the entire cast.

The annual spring tour has become one of the opera's most popular outreach programs. It provides an opportunity for many to experience the Santa Fe Opera without leaving town. The apprentice singers serve as ambassadors for the Santa Fe Opera and many go on to perform with renowned opera companies throughout the world.
