Clovis Community College Exceeds Contribution Goal...Clovis, NM (December, 2007) - Clovis Community College's 2007 United Way contributions exceeded last year's goal by 30%. A check in the amount of $9,675.24 was presented to Erinn Burch, executive director of United Way of Eastern New Mexico during the December 19th CCC board of trustees meeting.
Dianna Thompson and John Hansen, CCC campaign co-chair's, planned several fundraising events for the staff, faculty, and administration to boost the pledged amount. The employee payroll participation doubled as a result. "United Way is the central point of contact for giving in eastern New Mexico and it is amazing how so much good can come from a few dollars each pay period," said Hansen. In addition, Thompson stated, "I am so proud of the employees of CCC pulling together to have a successful workplace campaign. I have been a United Way board member for the past six years, and have a first-hand knowledge that the monies we pledged will stay in Roosevelt and Curry Counties to fund programs that benefit our community."
Efforts are already in the planning stages for next year's campaign. CCC President, Dr. John Neibling is pleased with the participation and said, "United Way does a lot of good in the community, and I am very proud of the way that the staff and faculty at Clovis Community College have responded to the campaign."
