CCC's Kids College for the Summer of 2015 has something for every kid, ranging from health and fitness classes to hands-on science and art. Classes fill up quickly and space is limited in each session.

FREE Children's Interactive Science Museum
Children and parents of all ages will enjoy CCC's Interactive Science Museum! There are so many discoveries to make while playing with our "toys." Come and check out our gear table, digital microscopes, fossils, or bones. We have optical illusion gadgets, circuit and electricity gizmos, audio devices, and so much more! Your family will have tons of fun while having a hands-on science experience. Registration for this activity is not required. Choose one night or attend all!

Jeet Kune Do
Instructor: Michael Watson
Jeet Kune Do is the martial art created by Bruce Lee. It is a principle-driven self-defense with simple and direct, or straightforward, movements and non-classical style. Jeet Kune Do practitioners believe in minimal movements with maximum effects and extreme speed. During the course the student will be educated on basic principles of self-defense. Classes will be conducted in a relaxed and informative manner. Michael Watson is an experienced instructor and teaches both children and adults the art of Jeet Kune Do. 12 Sessions: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, June 1-26, Room 183

Volleyball Camp
Instructor: Valerie Roberts
Come join the fun this summer at CCC youth volleyball camp. Learn the basic fundamentals and sharpen your skills along with learning the rules of the game. Valerie has many years of experience and is a certified volleyball coach. Students need to dress for physical activity and wear athletic shoes, knee-pads if you have them. Grades listed are for students entering that grade in the fall.

Grades 2nd-3rd:
4 Sessions: Monday - Thursday, June 22-25, 10 am-12 pm

Grades 4th-5th :

Pilates for Kids (Ages 8-15)
Instructor: Chris Williamson
Pilates is a safe exercise system that tones and conditions while strengthening muscles. This is an at-your-own-pace class that will stimulate your child's mind and body to exercise. No matter what your child's age or condition, Pilates can improve strength, flexibility, agility, and motion. Chris has years of experience as a Pilates instructor and believes that introducing children to Pilates creates a connection between health and exercise. Students should wear exercise clothing and may bring their own floor mat or use one in the exercise lab.

USTA LogoTennis for Youngsters: Ages 5-8
Instructor: Brad Heath
Tennis is a great way for children to develop fitness skills, improve hand-eye coordination, and mental acuity. Begin a love for the game of tennis by learning the fundamentals, including learning proper grips, footwork, the basic volley and forehand/backhand groundstrokes. Brad has 20+ years of coaching and instructing the game of tennis and will help your child develop skills and confidence. Students must furnish their own racquet but tennis balls will be provided. Students need to bring water.
1st Session: Tuesday & Thursday @ 6-6:45 pm, June 2, 4, 9 & 11.
2nd Session: Tuesday & Thursday @ 6-6:45 pm, June 16, 18, 23 & 25.
Fee $45 per class

Youth Tennis - Intermediate Skills: Ages 9 & Up
Instructor: Brad Heath
The Intermediate ability level is a comprehensive camp that focuses on developing a young player by refining his or her skills. This camp is taught through fast-paced drills and skill-building exercises. The player needs to have a basic/good understanding of tennis skills. Previous participation in CCC’s tennis camp or playing in a league or club should suffice. Students must furnish their own racquet but tennis balls will be provided. Students need to bring water.
1st Session: Monday, Wednesday & Friday @ 9-10 am, June 1, 3, 5, 8, 10 & 12.
2nd Session: Monday, Wednesday & Friday @ 9-10 am, June 15, 17, 19, 22, 24 & 26.
Fee $70 per class

Advance Tennis Skills: The Serve & Game Strategies (Intermediate is a prerequisite)
Instructor: Brad Heath
The advance ability level is focused on developing sound skills in the Serve and Game Strategies. This camp is taught through fast-paced drills, skill-building exercises, and game-speed scrimmages in a more competitive environment. The player needs to have a basic/good understanding of the game and its skills. Players must complete the intermediate session to be enrolled! Students must furnish their own racquet but tennis balls will be provided. Students should also bring water.
1st Session: Tuesday & Thursday @ 6-6:45 pm, June 30, July 2, 7, 9, 14 & 16.
Fee $70 per class

Creative Dance! (Ages 5-10)
Instructor: Samantha Lucero
Dancing is fun, creative, and great exercise! This class combines these elements in a great summer learning experience and finishes with a performance for family and friends in Town Hall. Your child will learn the basics of ballet, jazz and hip-hop dance methods. Samantha Lucero is an experienced dance instructor who has taught at public schools and dance studios. Clothing requirements are black leotard and pink tights for girls, black or dark shorts for boys. Class size is limited.

Tumbling! (Ages 5-10)
Kids love to move! Let them learn to move with a purpose! Tumbling is a great way for kids to get physical training in flexibility, balance and coordination. Tumbling is also a precursor to gymnastics. Kids will learn basic floor tumbling, as well as forward rolls, cartwheels, bridges and more! Samantha Lucero is an experienced instructor who has taught at public schools and dance studios. Children should wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement.

Ceramics & Pottery
Instructor: Madelyn Amaro
Discover the art of ceramics and pottery! Your child will enjoy spending time learning the basic skills of hand-built pottery, modeling and carving techniques, and working with glazes. Students need to bring a butter knife, fork, spoon, old towel, plastic bowl with lid, and several old newspapers. All other supplies are included in the fee. Enrollment is limited.

Ages 6-8

Wheel-thrown Pottery-Ages 10-15
This pottery class will teach students the basics of wheel thrown pottery. Safety instructions will be provided to all students and students should dress appropriately; bring a smock or old shirt to wear, tie back loose hair, and no sleeves that extend past the wrist. Students need to bring a towel, plastic bucket and pottery tool kit. Class size is limited to 12.

Origami, Japanese Language and Calligraphy! Ages 7 and Up
Instructor: Hisano Richeson
Let’s have fun with origami, Japanese language and calligraphy. By folding origami, children and youths can create 3D figures and learn more about shapes, lines, and angles. Students will also learn basic Japanese words and phrases, as well as the art of calligraphy. Join us in this exploration of a new language and culture.

Japanese Language-Ages 15 to Adult

In this course, students will learn basic Japanese language and culture. You can try Japanese language without fear because I will make it enjoyable. How about those who already have some experience in Japanese? For these students, I will make it a bit more challenging. Come and join us in an adventure into the Japanese language and culture! Through this experience, you will develop an advantage in business by learning Japanese phrases and have some fun along the way!

Science Camp-Ages 8 and Up

Welcome to Science Camp of Fun where every day is packed full of fun, informative programs coupled with wacky and wild activities. We will explore topics such as reptiles and amphibians; astronomy; what's up with the weather; and more! Activities will include creative art, science experiments, and field trips on and off campus. Children younger than 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Parents/guardians are responsible for getting children to field trips off campus. Off campus locations be will announced in class.
