Is there a future in an Industrial Technology career?
Strong winds are blowing change into the energy industry, creating new careers. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, wind power is the fastest growing energy source in the country. As the industry expands, so does the need for technicians to install, operate, and maintain wind turbines. Wind turbine technicians build or service individual turbines, help with the construction of entire wind farms, or work indoors at factories that manufacture wind turbines. These technicians use a wide range of mechanical and electrical skills.
Why choose a career in Industrial Technology?
Be a part of the nation's efforts to improve the performance, lower the cost, and accelerate the deployment of wind power technology. Great use of our nation's renewable resources for electric power generation will help stabilize energy costs, enhance energy security, and improve our environment. When there's wind, there's energy. Locally there are a growing number of wind farms capturing the wind for electrical power and making it available to homeowners and businesses. While it's nature that provides the wind, it's humans that install and maintain the turbines.
Why is the Industrial Technology program at CCC so outstanding?
The Wind Energy program at Clovis Community College is part of our full-time Industrial Technology program. The program runs from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday. Click here for details on the admission requirements. Our well trained and professional faculty are ready to share with you their experience and knowledge of the fundamentals of the operation and maintenance of complex industrial systems. Our students are exposed to a wide variety of maintenance and operations coursework, providing students with a unique blend of training for a high wage and in demand field.
Upon completion of the full-time program, students will earn a Certificate of Completion in Industrial Technology and a Certificate of Completion in Wind Energy. Students can also obtain an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Industrial Technology with a concentration in Wind Energy.
