General Behavior: All library users are expected to respect other users and library staff.
Facility Use: Library facilities are intended for ordinary library activities and those sponsored by the Library. Users are expected to respect library facilities.
Rules of Conduct:
|Refrain from eating messy/smelly foods or full meals in the library. This can be done in the Cyber Café. Snacks and covered drinks are allowed in the library.|
|Observe quiet areas; set earphones low so as not to disturb others.|
Please turn off all ringtones when entering the library. Cell phone conversations must be conducted outside the library. If your cell phone use disturbs others, you may be asked to leave the library.
Computer Use: The Library's resources, including all computers, are provided for research and information to support instruction. Students, faculty, and staff of Clovis Community College will be given priority use of the library computers. Please use computers in an appropriate, ethical, and lawful manner. Academic use has priority over recreational use. Three computers are available to the general public (non-students) with a 10 cent per page fee for printing from these computers. We reserve the right to restrict or refuse access and computer use if a patron does not comply with College policies. All users are expected to exit their computers ten minutes before closing.
Copyright: The library adheres to copyright law contained in Title 17 of the United States Code. The library posts copyright notice in areas with unsupervised copy machines-scanners and reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
Gifts: The Office of Resource Development has a responsibility for accepting monetary gifts from private sources on behalf of Clovis Community College. The Library does accept gift books, media, periodicals, etc. Generally, donations are accepted with the understanding that the Library retains the right to determine disposition.
Children in the Library: Unattended children under the age of 14 are not permitted in the library at any time. The library has defined unattended as the parent and child(ren) not being in close proximity in the same room. Children 16 years of age and older may use the library print materials and the computers.
