All students, faculty and staff are required to show a valid CCC ID when checking out library materials.
Librarians are available upon request to assist students with finding, managing, and using academic quality sources for research paper assignments in any CCC class. The Online Librarian Helpdesk is available for students who need research assistance when they are off-campus.
A patron may place a hold on any item that is in circulation except course reserves. When the item is available, the requester will be notified and the item will be held at the circulation desk for one week.
Some, but not all, classes may place textbooks on reserve. These items can be checked out at the circulation desk and are for in-library use only.
Computers and printing
The library has 17 computers dedicated for student use. These computers are all registered to use the student's Papercut account. All students registered for classes during the current semester receive $25 dollars credited to their account. Copies cost $0.10 each or $0.25 for color copies.
Copying and scanning
The library has 2 copy machines that charge $0.05 per copy. There is also a scanner available for all to use. On that computer, priority is given to students wishing to use the scanner.
There are 5 group and 4 individual study rooms available for use in the CCC Library. Current students can present their CCC ID at the circulation desk to use an available room.
Library Orientations and Workshops
Faculty may arrange a library orientation for a class (i.e. overview of library resources/services/facilities) by contacting the library at 575.769.4080 or email email@example.com. Workshops are more specialized with a focus on course integrated information literacy instruction. Faculty and librarians work together to design activities that target different kinds of research tasks and competencies – e.g. searching for, accessing, and managing sources in a variety of formats (print-database-web-video); assessing the quality of sources; notetaking/annotating that summarizes and interprets source content; integrating sources in papers and presentations to support an original thesis; avoiding plagiarism and using an approved format to cite sources.
CCC Library’s policy for copyrighted materials on reserve is that all provisions of fair use must be met or instructor provides to library a copy of written permission from copyright holder(s). The library reserves the right to refuse or retract any request if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the request involves the violation of U.S. Copyright Law.
Instructors can reserve use of the library's classroom by contacting the library directly. The library classroom has 30 computers and an instructor computer that may use an overhead projector.
The library welcomes suggestions for purchases. Please contact the library director firstname.lastname@example.org for suggestions or inquiries.
The Clovis Community College Library welcomes all users from the community. There are three dedicated computers for community members to use and print from. Copies cost $0.10 each and $0.25 for color copies. Community members are free to use books within the library, but only registered students, faculty, and staff may check out books.
