Clovis Community College is Pleased to Announce the Top 5 Finalists for President

 The Clovis Community College Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that we have selected five finalists for the presidency of Clovis Community College. We would personally like to thank the entire college community for your continued interest and support in the process to identify our next president. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank each member of the Presidential Search Committee for their exceptional work and effort. 

The Clovis Community College presidential finalists are (in alphabetical order): 

Michael Fitzpatrick, Ph.D., is the Vice President of Instruction at Pratt Community College, KS. Previously, he served as the Dean of the Graduate Program in Education at Morningside College, IA. Dr. Fitzpatrick earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Special Education from the University of Kansas, an Education Specialists Degree in Special Education and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Central Missouri, MO, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Central College, IA. 

Charles Nwankwo, Ph.D., is the Vice President of Technology and Business Partnerships for Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Maricopa Community Colleges, AZ. Previously, he served as the Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Maricopa Community Colleges, AZ. Dr. Nwankwo earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Education Administration for the Community College Leadership Program at The University of Texas at Austin, TX, a Master of Science in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, TX, and an Associate of Science from Houston Community College, TX. 

Robert Riza, Ed.D., is the President of Clarendon College, TX. He previously served as Vice President of Student Services at Hill College, TX. Dr. Riza holds a Doctor of Education in Curriculum, Supervision and Instruction from Texas A&M University in Commerce, TX, a Master of Science in Secondary and Higher Education from Texas A&M University in Commerce, TX, Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Studies from Texas Wesleyan University, TX, and an Associate of Arts from Weatherford College, TX. 

Richard Sax, Ph.D., is the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at University of Rio Grande & Rio Grande Community College in Rio Grande, OH. He previously served as Campus Dean and Chief Academic Officer at the University of New Mexico, Valencia Campus, NM. Dr. Sax earned a Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan, MI, and a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in American Studies from Haverford College, PA. 

Gregory South, Ph.D., is the Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs at Portersville College, CA. Previously he served as Vice President of Academic Services at Lassen College, CA. Dr. South earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Education/Leadership and Performance/Sport Psychology from the University of Idaho, ID, a Master of Arts in Physical Education/Psychology and Sociology of Sport Motor Learning and a Bachelor of Art in Sociology from California State University, Chico, CA, and an Associate of Arts in General Education from Yuba College, CA. 

Each presidential finalist will participate in an open community forum. We invite and encourage everyone to attend the open forum. There will be a brief introduction of each candidate, followed by a moderated question and answer session. Feedback forms will be given to all who attend and the completed forms will be collected at the end of each forum and given to the Board of Trustees for review.
