Nursing Program Criteria Point System for Semester One Applicants

The admission point system uses a cumulative approach to the selection of the top applicants.

The following are the criteria used with the points as identified next to each criterion. All eligible applicants are ranked based on their scores for criteria A-D.

Point scale for admission: 100 possible points

A) GPA in prerequisites

(75 points possible)
     3.90-4.0 75 points
     3.70-3.89 70 points
     3.50-3.69 65 points
     3.30-3.49 60 points
     3.10-3.29 55 points
     2.90-3.09 50 points
     2.70-2.89 45 points
     2.60-2.69 40 points
     2.50-2.59 30 points
B) Cumulative GPA (10 points possible)
     3.90-4.0 10 points
     3.70-3.89 9 points
     3.50-3.69 8 points
     3.30-3.49 7 points
     3.10-3.29 6 points
     2.90-3.09 5 points
     2.70-2.89 4 points
     2.60-2.69 3 points
     2.50-2.59 2 points
C) Completion of HCA class or CNA (5 points possible)
D) Kaplan Entrance Exam (10 points possible)
     80-100 raw score 10 points
     60-79 raw score 8 points
     50-59 raw score 5 points
     40-49 raw score 3  points
     Less than 40 raw score 0 points
