High School Equivalency

GED® Exam

The GED exam is available in CBT (Computer-Based Testing), and is administered at the CCC Testing Center. The exam is offered in both English and Spanish.

The GED test is made up of four subtests:

• Reasoning through Language Arts allows 155 minutes and includes a 10 minute break.
• Mathematical Reasoning allows 120 minutes, which includes a calculator-prohibited and on-screen calculator-allowed section.
• Science allows 95 minutes.
• Social Studies allows 95 minutes.

Types of questions include multiple-choice, drag and drop, Hot spot, Fill in the blank, short answer and extended response.

HiSET® Exam

The HiSET exam is available in CBT format at the CCC Testing Center. The exam is offered in both English and Spanish.

The HiSET test is made up of five subtests:

• Language Arts-Reading allows 65 minutes containing 50 multiple-choice questions.
• Language Arts-Writing allows 120 minutes containing 60 multiple-choice and one essay question. 
• Mathematics allows 90 minutes containing 55 multiple-choice questions.
• Science allows 80 minutes with 60 multiple-choice questions. 
• Social Studies allows 70 minutes with 60 multiple-choice questions.

GED® Exam

The GED exam costs $104. There are 4 modules at $26 per module, total cost is $104. 

You will receive one discounted retake for every GED® test subject you purchase but don’t pass. You have 365 days after your full price test to use this retake. This retake offer (1 full price:1 discount) repeats until you pass the test. 

HiSET® Exam

The HiSET exam cost $23 per subject, totaling $115 for all five subjects. 

With purchase of an initial HiSET subtest, you get two retests within a 12-month period of your original subtest purchase date.

You will have access to information about test availability, preparation, scheduling, scoring, and college and career opportunities.

We recommend NOT scheduling all four tests in one day.

If you are 16 or 17 years old, you will be prompted to complete and submit an Underage Permission/Withdrawal Form in order to complete your on-line registration.

If you ever attended a NM public school, you will need the signature of the superintendent/designee which can be obtained from the Clovis Municipal Schools office for all Clovis public school students.

Home Schooled students will also require signatures from the parents and the home school operator, as well as the Home School Confirmation number.

GED® Exam

A minimum passing score of 145 (on a scale of 100-200) must be achieved on each of the four tests in order to pass the GED exam.

Official scores will be available online at your MyGED account. Order your Official High School Equivalency (HSE) Transcript and Diploma from www.DiplomaSender.com.

HiSET® Exam

A minimum score of 8 (on a scale of 1-20) must be achieved on each sub test of the HiSET exam, plus a combined score of 45 or higher on all five tests, and a minimum score of 2 on the essay portion of the Writing test. All three criteria must be met to pass the HiSET exam.

A valid driver's license, passport, or other form of government issued identification with name, date of birth, signature and photograph are acceptable forms of identification.

Expired or photocopied identification will not be accepted. Your name on the ID must match the name you registered with at www.GED.com exactly.
