Esthetics & Nail Tech

The Esthetics/Nail Tech track provides training in both esthetics and nail technician. Students who complete this track will be eligible to sit for the NM Esthetician License board exam, or the Manicurist/Pedicurist License, or both. A student who chooses this route will receive the same training for manicures, pedicures, nail enhancements, and facials; however, it also includes advanced hand and foot treatments; advanced facial treatments, such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, lifts; and eyelash extensions. This combined program is not only more specialized in the areas of esthetics and nail tech, but also it provides students with the versatility to work in both fields if desired. Career opportunities in this area include Spa Owner, Cosmetic Consultant, Nail Technician, Esthetician, or Sales representative for major companies.

Can I really make a living with a Letter of Qualification in Esthetics from CCC?

While salaries will vary based on location, type of esthetic practice and level of experience—you can expect to earn between $20,000 and $30,000, with more experienced estheticians making $50,000 or more!

Also, esthetics is one of the fastest growing specialties within the spa and beauty industry because people are spending more time and money on skin treatments than ever before!

Why become an Esthetician?

So much of life's stress shows in our skin. Estheticians use their skill and artistry to erase that wear and rejuvenate tired skin. It is the job of the Esthetician to make client's feel and look younger, healthier and vibrant. Being an esthetician means having a broad knowledge base, a talent with people and the motivation to build an exciting, multifaceted career!

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that job opportunities for Estheticians will continue to grow rapidly through 2016. The increasing popularity of natural or alternative treatments and the general aging of the population are spurring the growth of the spa and beauty industry—and a growing industry means more jobs.
