Hello! My name is Brandon Finney and this is my second year at CCC. I encourage you to reach out to me if you have any questions about my courses or the math classes at CCC in general.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in 2016 and my Master of Science degree in 2018, both in Mathematics and both from Texas Tech University. While in graduate school, I taught Precalculus and Calculus, which is how I fell in love with teaching. I've also completed research projects in Mathematics Education and Mathematical Biology. More specifically, I examined the effects of teaching conceptual information in college math courses as opposed to only teaching mathematical procedures. I also created a biological epidemic model using the concept of time scale mathematics to help track the spread of diseases. Since coming to CCC, I have been interested in developing online math courses that encourage learning and retention.
