Altrusa Donation Creates Carolyn Muffley Scholarship At CCC

Altrusa International of Clovis, NM, Inc. recently received grant funding which it in turn donated to the Clovis Community College Foundation to create the Carolyn Muffley Occupational Technology and Allied Health Scholarship.

“On behalf of the CCC Foundation Board of Directors, we are so grateful for the generosity of Altrusa International of Clovis, NM, Inc. This scholarship will have a direct, positive impact on students in our community. Their support is greatly appreciated,” said CCC Foundation Board President, Christina Tatum.

The scholarship will give $500 per semester to two students working toward a degree or certificate in Occupational Technology or Allied Health programs. Altrusa recognizes the need for qualified and committed workers in the community within those fields. The Carolyn Muffley Scholarship will help those wishing to learn a career skill or trade, which will enable them to become a respected and productive member of the community.

This scholarship is named in honor of Carolyn Muffley, who was a vital part of Altrusa International of Clovis, NM, Inc. for over 44 years. She and her husband moved to Clovis in 1975, purchased Muffley Funeral Home and became involved in helping make Clovis a better place. She joined Altrusa in 1978 and remained an active member until her death in February 2022. Muffley served on the Altrusa of Clovis Board and was selected as Clovis Altrusan of the Year in 1992.

Altrusa is an international non-profit organization which makes communities better through leadership, partnership, and service. The local chapter undertakes a variety of service, literacy, fundraising, and projects each year to make a real difference in Clovis.

The CCC Foundation encourages, solicits, receives, and administers gifts and bequests for scientific, educational, and charitable purposes for the advancement of Clovis Community College. For more information about the Foundation, please visit www.clovis.edu/foundation.
