Governor Visits Clovis Community College
Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham made a visit to Clovis on Friday, which included a stop at Clovis Community College. CCC is set to start an expansion of the Allied Health and Nursing facilities after a generous contribution from the Bonner Family Foundation and a match of funds from the state.
The Bonner Family Foundation will donate $2 million towards the expansion, while the state will add $2 million more to fund the project.
CCC plans to expand the simulation lab to continue giving students vital hands-on experience and increase the number of students within the program.
The governor remarked on the importance of health care in rural areas of Eastern New Mexico and the need for healthcare professionals in the state of New Mexico. CCC plans for the expansion to help with both of those needs.
CCC currently offers Allied Health programs in Nursing, Health Care Assistant, Phlebotomy, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiologic Technology, and Emergency Medical Services. Applications for Allied Health are open for the Fall 2022 semester and will be accepted until July 15.
