Why Give?

Why Private Support of Public Higher Education?

Legislative appropriations, while supportive of postsecondary education, have not been able to keep pace with the growth and needs of the College. Being responsive to community needs is a part of the College mission and meeting those needs, in part, will require added community support. Well educated students are important to the workforce and the entire community. Clovis Community College has a commitment to assist the community in various capacities. Therefore, added support from the private sector along with private leadership aid is essential.

A Community Resource

Clovis Community College has served as a resource to residents of Curry County and Eastern New Mexico since 1990 when voters approved the formation of a locally-goverened, locally-controlled community college.

Over the years, the College has met the needs in a variety of ways, including:

  • Library and Museum
  • Town Hall
  • Cultures of the Southwest Series
  • Small Business Development Center
  • Health and Fitness Center
  • Noncredit Community Service Classes
  • Adults, Teens, Kids’ College
  • Children’s Enrichment Program
  • EVOLVE for Students with Special Needs
  • Adult Re-Entry Program
  • Adult Education
  • English as a Second Language Classes
